Aeria 8 Pro A highly specialized mattress replacement system, the Aeria 8 Pro Mattress Replacement System is indicated for the prevention and treatment of skin breakdown and pressure ulcers in patients at high risk. Custom built for high risk patients in long term care environment or home setting, the mattress replacement is constructed from 21 x 8 inch (200mm) transverse cells that cyclically inflate and deflate in an alternating pattern. Cyclic alternation of pressure prevents arterial and venous capillary occlusion in the patient’s surface tissue – maintaining and simulating the flow of blood and lymphatic fluids through these tissues to provide essential oxygen and remove metabolic waste products. Incorporating cell in cell design with a three cell alternation cycle, this mattress combines optimum user comfort with superior clinical performance. Specifically designed so that deflation of each cell reaches a very low pressure during each cycle, this system provides regular periods of pressure relief and stimulation of blood flow to all skin areas – a combination that creates an optimum healing environment. |
